If Only

Updated: Thursday 30th July 2009

Stiff limbs unwrapped from winter's wool,
I sit relaxed and easy
in the fresh spring green of the garden,
giving myself to the gentle warmth.

this glittering Earth,
this crippled, bloodstained planet.

I long to lift it to the Sun
and watch it blossom
like the apple tree.
